So I turned 29 today.
I thought I’d share a few thoughts on things I’ve learned. Here’s what I shared when I turned 28.
- Loving Jesus is worth it all.
I come to this conclusion more and more every day. There is nothing like loving Jesus because there’s no one like Him. He’s worth wasting my life on. - Faith costs something.
Faith seems to have become a nice cliche word that we like to throw around and yet without it it is impossible to please God. It’s serious business. If there’s one thing I learned throughout the 28th year of my life (and years previous) is that faith costs something. It’s more than a nice fluffy thought because true faith manifests itself through action. So when walking by faith, you actually have to walk.
Faith is also a bit crazy because it’s focus is not what is seen but what is unseen. So when stepping out in faith it will cost you your reputation or pride.
- Opinions are a dime a dozen.
It’s one thing to seek Godly counsel, but it’s a whole other thing to get ungodly opinions spoken over/into your life. Everyone has an opinion about what you should or shouldn’t do with your life and how you should or shouldn’t do it.
The thing you have to remember is: they are not God. They don’t necessarily know what is best for your life regardless of how long they’ve lived or how much they think they know.
Always go back to what the LORD is speaking directly to you. Also, listen to Godly counsel, but hold everyone else’s opinion very lightly. God is the one you will have to answer to, not those who offer their opinion.
In Brief:
Pursue Jesus, no matter the cost and do what He’s asking you to do, no matter the cost.
